We want to make an awesome badge.
We have an irc channel at #sha2017-badge on freenode and will have a mailing list very soon.
Current Team:
- realitygaps
- the_Jinx
- Einstein
- Kartoffel
- brabo
- someone we forgot?
Our current brainstorms and meeting notes are at https://pad.ijhack.nl/p/shabadge
We will continue having meetings online on the irc channel once every couple of weeks for the moment.
TLDR; from SHADAY Kickoff meeting:
What we'd like:
- an actual badge
- low barrier to entry for playing with
- decent battery life
- up to date schedule
- integration with volunteer system
- ability to interact with installations
- location/mapping with added metadata (guided tours etc)
- useful after the event
- sunlight readable?
How do we think we can achieve this?
- openwrt seems like a popular idea
- e-ink seems nice but only available cheaply in 6" (too large?)
- btle seems useful for location/interactions
- wifi makes it useful after the event
- api for making your installation controllable from the badge
