Whenever you are within the control zone of the Safe Harbour Authority or in the vicinity (less thenone mile away) we will do whatever we can to help in any case of emergency to the very best of ourabilities.
We have a RHIB, a Harbour Masters boat and first aid equipment available as well as rapidlines with authorities that can deliver practical help.
Contact us at maritime VHF-channel 88. If you are in need outside the control zone and too far away from the Safe Harbour Authority please use the standard channels 10 and 16 when needed.
BE AWARE THAT ANY INCIDENT MAY BE RELAYED to other authority if we deem them better able to help you.

In the case of an emergency we have three statuses for protocols:

1.Life threatening emergencies.

Whenever people are in life danger, ships are sinking, ships need to be abandoned for serious reasons (sinking, explosion, fire): MAYDAY. In these case without any hesitation authorities will be notified, an all other activities stop-protocol will be invoked. The Safe Harbour Authority will cease all other operations.
2.Serious emergencies
People are not directly in life threatening danger, but still ships and people are at risk you pronounce PAN PAN. The Safe Harbour Authority will give you top priority;

3.Warnings.

There is danger that people need to be aware of without an actual emergency being actual yet still it needs attentions you pronounce: SECURITE.

The communication protocol is as follows:
1.MAYDAY MAYDAY MAYDAY this is SHIPNAME SHIPNAME SHIPNAME at location GPS-coordinates/or docking place with TYPE-OF-LIFE-THREATENING-EMERGENCY
or in Dutch (when possible): MAYDAY MAYDAY MAYDAY dit is BOOTNAAM BOOTNAAM BOOTNAAM op de volgende locatie GPS-coördinaten/havenlocatie;
2.PAN PAN PAN PAN PAN PAN this is SHIPNAME SHIPNAME SHIPNAME at location GPS-coordinates/or docking place with TYPE-OF-EMERGENCY or in Dutch (when possible) PAN PAN PAN PAN PAN PAN dit is BOOTNAAM BOOTNAAM BOOTNAAM op de volgende locatie GPS-coördinaten/havenlocatie;;3.SECURITE SECURITE SECURITE this is SHIPNAME SHIPNAME SHIPNAME with DESCRIPTION OF WARNING or in Dutch (when possible): 3. SECURITE SECURITE SECURITE dit is SHIPNAME SHIPNAME SHIPNAME met de volgende melding: BESCHRIJVING VAN HET GEVAAR
The Safe Harbour Authority will respond with: 1.MAYDAY Safe Harbour Authorithy for SHIPNAME MAYDAY RECEIVED;2.PAN PAN Safe Harbour Authorithy for SHIPNAME PAN PAN RECEIVED;3.SECURITE Safe Harbour Authorithy for SHIPNAME SECURITE RECEIVED;After that regular communications with the ship will be started. Meanwhile the Safe Harbour Authority will do everything necessary to deal with the situation. Please provide as many details as possible to eradicate the danger or deal with the emergency. DO NOT GET ANGRY AT ANY TIME: PEOPLE ARE THERE TO HELP TO THE BEST OF THEIR ABILITIES. REALIZE THAT QUESTIONS MAY COME EVEN WHEN HELP IS ALREADY ON ITS WAY!If something happens don't be afraid to contact the Safe Harbour Authority we are there to help you!We will invoke any help that we deem necessary to ensure everybody's safety and will prevent any loss of life at any cost. But don't abuse these emergency protocols. They are simply there to help people. Any abuse can trigger responses that may result in legal claims, but when needed we are really there to save lives and prevent any damage from occurring.
== Rules for Safety and SecurityWe want a fun and safe party. ==

There are some rules needed to ensure that and those rules are not up for discussion:
1.Control Zone. The Safe Harbour Authority will authorize every ship movement within their control zone;
2.Good seamen ship. Act responsible for yourself, your environment. We also expect you to beactively helpful to people in need or dangerous situations.
In case of incidents we expect you to alarm preferably VHF-radio (you can use: MAYDAY for life threathing situations or PANPAN for dangerous incidents or SECURITE for warnings), by phone or physical.
The Safe Harbour Authority can only organize a fun party if people are truly safe;
3.No loud noise before 09:00 hours and after 23:00 hours. There are captains, volunteers and speakers who need to get a good night sleep. Late night parties on the camp zone please;
4.No black water dumping. PERIOD. Any violations are reason for immediate and permanent expulsion from the harbour and ground for civil and criminal actions by government.
The Safe Harbour Authority will actively pursue those charges;
5.No interference with any VHF-martime radio channels. VHF-communications is not a place for hacking. Go play with your software defined radio on other frequencies.
These channels are needed to rescue people in need, ensure safe communications and enable all operations.
The Safe Harbour will expel ships that violate and actively pursue expulsion from the SHA2017 camp. We will also actively work with official government authorities to follow up on any violations;
6.Be a community player. The naval scene is all about safety. Be frank about mistakes. Makeing a screwup is okay as long as you work actively to reduce the consequences to the bare minimum
7.When unsure ask for help! The Safe Harbour Authority wants people to have a good time and we will help where we can. You can reach us at any time preferably by VHF-radio or byphone or in person. <bt> Ask us before anything gets out of control;
8.Deliberately abuse of MAYDAY/PAN PAN/SECURITE distress signals can result in serious consequences. The Safe Harbour will expel ships that violate the emergency protocols for unjust reasons and actively pursue expulsion from the SHA2017 camp. We will also activelywork with official government authorities to follow up on any violations;
