Our mission is for everybody to have fun before, during and after the conference: not only the visitors, but especially all organizing parties and volunteers. We see that everybody who helps must also be able to visit talks and have plenty of time to meet new people and enjoy the fruits of our shared labor. We aim to do this by focussing on communication and aiming for redundancy. This, combined with the growing scale of the event means some parts of the organization might change or look a little bit different from previous camp-conferences.

We are firm believers in openness and transparency. That means almost all communication regarding organizing the camp will be public. We expect that this really helps with onboarding new, more, and other people into the organisation. Onboarding many new people is one of our prime goals for SHA2017, which will be reflected in many aspects of the organisation. Please help building a friendly, open and welcoming organization where everybody can contribute.
